A maker of engineered parts and accessories for recreational vehicles, boats, and manufactured homes, from chassis, axles, and slide-out mechanisms to awnings, steps, furniture, and windows. It began in 1956 in Elkhart, Indiana as B&L Industries, making metal roofing for manufactured housing, and was renamed Lippert Components after founder Larry Lippert bought out his partner in 1964. Today the company is widely known simply as Lippert, and its slide-out systems are what let RV walls glide outward to expand a living space on the road.
