Legato Merger Corp. II
A special-purpose acquisition company, or SPAC — a shell set up to raise money and then merge with an operating business. Legato Merger Corp. II was a "blank check" company that in early 2023 combined with Southland Holdings, a Texas-based infrastructure builder whose roots reach back to 1900, and the merged firm took the name Southland Holdings, Inc. Its name comes from the Italian musical term for notes played smoothly and connected — a fitting nod to the job of tying two companies together.
Class A common stock — Acquired by Southland Holdings in February 2023
