Libbey Inc
A maker of glassware, dinnerware, and flatware for restaurants, hotels, and homes, Libbey traces its roots to the New England Glass Company, founded in 1818 in Massachusetts. In 1888 Edward Drummond Libbey moved the business to Toledo, Ohio, where its glassmaking helped earn the city the nickname "The Glass City," and the firm was renamed Libbey in 1892. It once produced glass lightbulbs for Edison General Electric, and its early sword trademark honored Toledo's sister city in Spain.
