A home-shopping and digital commerce powerhouse best known for QVC and HSN, the TV networks that sell everything from jewelry to kitchen gadgets directly to viewers' couches. Founded in 1986 by Joseph Segel (who named it for Quality, Value, and Convenience), the business grew under Liberty Media and was later rebranded as Qurate Retail Group, also picking up the online flash-sale site Zulily along the way. Fun fact: the very first item QVC ever sold was a shower radio.
