A self-storage real estate investment trust that rents out climate-controlled units and drive-up spaces to households, students and small businesses across dozens of states under the Life Storage name. It began in the early 1980s as Uncle Bob's Self Storage, later doing business as Sovran Self Storage before renaming itself Life Storage in 2018 so the company's name finally matched the brand on its buildings. A fun quirk: the company once advertised with a cartoon mascot of a friendly uncle figure, tying back to that original "Uncle Bob" name.
