American Woodmark Corporation
A maker of kitchen and bathroom cabinetry, American Woodmark produces cabinets sold under brands like Timberlake, Shenandoah, and Waypoint, used by builders, remodelers, and homeowners across the country. It began in 1951 when a Long Island dentist named Dr. Alvin Goldhush, frustrated with his own office's storage, built custom dental cabinets and turned that side project into a cabinetry company later bought by Boise Cascade. In 1980, four executives from Boise Cascade's cabinet division bought that business out to create the modern company, headquartered in Winchester, Virginia.
