Livent Corporation
A maker of performance lithium compounds, Livent produced battery-grade lithium hydroxide and carbonate used in electric-vehicle batteries, along with specialty products like butyllithium for polymer and pharmaceutical makers. The company was spun off from FMC Corporation in 2018, inheriting nearly eight decades of lithium experience. Its name was coined to evoke "powering cars, homes, and lives," and in 2024 it merged with Allkem to form Arcadium Lithium.
