Madrigal Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
A maker of Rezdiffra, the first FDA-approved drug for MASH, a fatty-liver disease that can lead to serious liver damage. Founded in 2011 by Dr. Rebecca Taub to develop a thyroid-hormone molecule she had rediscovered, the company took its name from the madrigal, a Renaissance choral song, as a nod to restoring harmony to the liver. Fun quirk: it's unrelated to the fictional Madrigal Electromotive from Breaking Bad.
