Anixter International Inc.
A distributor of wire, cable, and networking gear, Anixter supplied products that help build, connect, power, and protect critical infrastructure, from data centers and utility lines to video-surveillance systems. Brothers Alan and Bill Anixter founded it in 1957 as a wholesale wire-and-cable house, launched with a loan from their mother, Zelda, so customers could buy only what they needed rather than in bulk. The company joined WESCO International in 2020.
