Neophotonics Corp
A maker of high-speed optical components that carry data through fiber networks, NeoPhotonics built photonic integrated circuits, tunable lasers, and coherent transceivers used by cloud providers, data centers, and telecom carriers. It began in 1996 as NanoGram Corporation, a nanomaterials firm, and in 2002 the optical-devices arm was spun out and renamed NeoPhotonics—"neo" meaning new, "photonics" the science of light. Lumentum acquired the company in 2022.
