An Israeli technology company that builds software for customer service and contact centers, including the CXone cloud platform and the Enlighten AI tools that help businesses automate and improve how they talk with their own customers. It began in 1986 as Neptune Intelligence Computer Engineering, a name whose initials became NICE when the founders—drawing on backgrounds in Israeli intelligence—turned it into a maker of call-recording and analytics systems. A fun quirk: the name has nothing to do with being nice or the French city of Nice—it's just an acronym that stuck.
