Apollo Senior Floating Rate Fund Inc.
A closed-end fund that invested in senior, secured bank loans whose interest rates reset periodically, made to companies with below-investment-grade debt. Launched in 2011 and managed by an affiliate of Apollo Global, its name is a literal recipe: "Senior" means the money stands first in line for repayment, "Floating Rate" means interest rates adjust over time, and "Apollo" honors the Greek god the parent firm chose as its namesake in 1990. In July 2024 the fund merged into MidCap Financial Investment Corporation and no longer trades on its own.
