Oceaneering International Inc
A Houston-based technology company that builds remotely operated underwater robots and diving equipment for the offshore energy industry, while also crafting flight hardware and spacewalk tools for NASA's shuttles and the International Space Station. It began in 1964 as a Gulf of Mexico diving outfit called World Wide Divers, then merged in 1969 with two rivals to become Oceaneering — a name coined as a mash-up of "ocean" and "engineering." Its motto, "We solve the unsolvable," suits a firm whose deep-sea know-how has taken it from the ocean floor to outer space.
