Pdc Energy, Inc.
An independent oil and gas producer that drilled for crude and natural gas in Colorado's Wattenberg Field and the Delaware Basin, extracting from horizontal wells in the Niobrara and Codell rock formations. It began in 1969 as Petroleum Development Corporation, running shallow natural-gas drilling partnerships in the Appalachian Basin, and rebranded to PDC Energy in 2012. In 2023, Chevron bought the company and folded its wells into its own portfolio.
