Aqua America Inc
A water and wastewater utility that supplies and treats drinking water for homes and businesses across the US, operating today under the Aqua brand as part of Essential Utilities. It traces back to 1886, when a group of Swarthmore College professors founded the Springfield Water Company in Pennsylvania—mostly just to get running water in their own homes—later growing through mergers to become Philadelphia Suburban, then renaming itself Aqua America in 2004.
