Pep Boys - Manny Moe & Jack
A chain of automotive parts and service centers, Pep Boys sells tires, batteries, and replacement parts and performs repairs like oil changes and brake work at hundreds of locations across the US. It was founded in Philadelphia in 1921 by four Navy buddies, and the name came from a can of "Pep Valve Grinding Compound" spotted on a shelf, plus a local police officer who told motorists to "go see the boys at Pep." The three cartoon mascots Manny, Moe, and Jack are based on the real founders.
