Petsmart Inc.
A North American retailer of pet food, supplies and services, PetSmart fills its big-box stores with grooming, dog training, boarding (its climate-controlled PetsHotel) and in-store vet clinics. It began in 1987 as a Phoenix bulk pet-food warehouse called PetFood Warehouse, then rebranded as PETsMART in 1989 as it grew into a full pet superstore. Fun fact: its in-store vet clinics were first called VetSmart before becoming the Banfield brand, which took its name from a Portland freeway rather than any founder.
