A Calgary-based energy producer that drills for and sells natural gas, crude oil and natural gas liquids across Alberta's Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. Pine Cliff Energy, incorporated in 2004, grew by buying up long-life, low-decline gas fields and now runs assets in areas like Edson and Ghost Pine. A fun twist: its "Ghost Pine" name comes from a central Alberta region, where local legend says a clash between Blackfoot and Cree peoples near Pine Lake gave the area its haunting name.
