Pioneer Natural Resources Co
An American oil and gas company that drilled for crude oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids across the Permian Basin of West Texas, one of the country's most productive oil regions. It was born in 1997 from the merger of Parker & Parsley Petroleum and Mesa Inc., and the founding duo famously flipped a coin to decide whose name came first — Parker won. In May 2024, ExxonMobil absorbed the company in one of the largest deals in the U.S. energy sector.
