Plantronics Inc
A maker of lightweight headsets and audio gear, Plantronics began in 1961 when two United Airlines pilots, Courtney Graham and Keith Larkin, built a lighter alternative to the heavy headsets pilots wore, founding the company in a Santa Cruz garage. Its headsets became standard for aviation, and NASA fitted its microphones into the "Snoopy cap" worn by the Apollo 11 crew — so Neil Armstrong's first words from the Moon came through a Plantronics headset.
