Arch Resources Inc
A producer of the coal that fuels steelmaking, Arch Resources mined metallurgical (coking) coal used to make steel around the world. It grew out of Arch Mineral Corporation, founded in 1969 as a partnership between Ashland Oil and the Hunt family, and took its current name in 2020 to reflect a shift away from power-plant coal. In 2025 it merged with CONSOL Energy to become Core Natural Resources.
