Proshares Trust
A family of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) that lets everyday investors magnify or bet against market moves. ProShares launched the first leveraged and inverse ETFs in the United States in 2006, offering funds that aim to deliver a multiple—or the opposite—of an index's daily performance. The brand grew out of the ProFunds Group, founded in 1997 by Louis Mayberg and Michael Sapir, and its name nods to the professional-grade tools it brought to retail investors.
