Argo Blockchain Plc
A London-based company that runs large-scale computer "farms" to mine Bitcoin, using special-purpose machines that solve complex puzzles in exchange for cryptocurrency rewards. It was founded in 2017 and first registered as GoSun Blockchain before being renamed Argo Blockchain. The name nods to the Argo, the ship of Jason and the Argonauts in Greek myth—a fitting pick, since Bitcoin is often called "digital gold." In 2021 it became the first publicly traded crypto miner to report being "climate positive" on its greenhouse-gas emissions.
