A maker of injectable treatments for cosmetic and medical use, Revance is best known for DAXXIFY, an FDA-approved botulinum toxin that smooths frown lines and eases cervical dystonia. Founded in 1999 as Essentia Biosystems by three Silicon Valley scientists, the company later renamed itself Revance—a coined word meant to suggest "revolutionize"—and merged with Crown Laboratories in 2025. DAXXIFY is the first FDA-approved neuromodulator formulated with a peptide instead of the usual albumin stabilizer.
