Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund
An exchange-traded fund that bundles the technology companies of the S&P 500 into a single ticker, XLK, letting everyday investors own a slice of giants like Apple, Microsoft, and NVIDIA in one purchase. It launched in December 1998 as part of the first suite of sector funds, created by State Street. The name SPDR, pronounced "spider," stands for Standard & Poor's Depositary Receipts.
