Shire Plc
A specialty biopharmaceutical company that made medicines for rare diseases and complex conditions, including the ADHD drugs Vyvanse and Adderall XR and treatments for hemophilia. It began in 1986 in a small Hampshire shop as AimCane, selling calcium products for osteoporosis, and later took the name "Shire" from the building that housed its early offices.
