Founded in 1999 by two Silicon Graphics engineers, Dan Baum and Eva Manolis, the company started in a Menlo Park guest bedroom with backing from Netscape's Jim Clark. Fun fact: the founders dreamed it up in the late 1990s, when digital cameras were new and most people had no easy way to get physical prints from them.
