A maker of specialty vehicles and truck bodies, The Shyft Group builds the walk-in delivery vans and commercial work trucks used by parcel, utility, and food-service fleets, under brands like Utilimaster and Royal Truck Body. It began as Spartan Motors, founded in 1975 in Charlotte, Michigan, by four engineers in the wake of a truckmaker's bankruptcy. In 2020 it renamed itself "Shyft" to signal a shift toward speed and agility, then merged with Switzerland's Aebi Schmidt in 2025.
