Sprott Physical Gold Trust
A closed-end investment trust that holds physical gold bullion, letting everyday investors own the real metal without the hassle of storing it themselves. Its gold bars are kept in secure vaults at the Royal Canadian Mint, a crown corporation of the Canadian government. Launched in 2010 and named after Canadian investor Eric Sprott, a famous "gold bull," the trust publishes bar lists with the serial number of every bar it holds, so anyone can verify the gold is really there.
