Star Peak Corp II
A blank-check company, or SPAC, created by investment firm Magnetar Capital to hunt for a business to buy in the sustainability world—clean energy, food, and resource management. It raised money in an initial public offering in 2021 and then merged with Benson Hill, a food-tech company that uses its CropOS platform to re-engineer crops like soybeans and yellow peas for plant-based foods and animal feed. After the deal, the company took Benson Hill's name and began trading on the New York Stock Exchange. The "Star Peak" brand echoes the "Peak" in chairman Michael Morgan's other firm, Triangle Peak Partners.
Unit consisting of one Class A common share and one-fourth of a public warrant — Merged with Benson Hill in Sep 2021, now inactive; post-merger trades as NYSE: BHIL
