A residential solar company that designs and installs rooftop solar systems and battery storage for homes across the United States. It began in 1985 when Stanford engineering professor Richard Swanson founded SunPower to commercialize his high-efficiency solar cells, which in the early days powered solar race cars. After the original company's 2024 bankruptcy, a firm called Complete Solaria bought its brand and assets and relaunched under the SunPower name in 2025.
