Sunopta Inc
A North American food and beverage company that makes plant-based milks, creamers, and frozen organic fruit, sold under its own brands like SOWN, Dream, and West Life as well as for other natural-food labels. It began in 1973 in Canada as Stake Technology Ltd., using "steam explosion" to turn wood chips and straw into animal feed, before pivoting to food. The name SunOpta, adopted in 2003, means "optimize what the Sun grows."
