Susquehanna Bancshares, Inc.
A Pennsylvania bank holding company whose roots trace back to 1901, when it opened as Farmers National Bank of Lititz. It grew by buying up regional banks and consolidated them under the Susquehanna Bank name in 2004, serving customers across Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, and West Virginia. It takes its name from the Susquehanna River, itself named for the Susquehannock people who lived along its banks; in 2015 it was folded into BB&T (now Truist).
