A Canadian oil and natural gas exploration and production company that has grown since its 2008 founding to become the country's largest natural gas producer. Founded by energy entrepreneur Mike Rose, who earlier built Duvernay Oil Corp, it drills for crude oil, natural gas liquids, and conventional and shale gas across the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin from its Calgary base. The name echoes the gemstone tourmaline, whose Sinhalese root means 'mixed gems' — though the company has never explained the link.
