A newspaper publisher whose papers include the Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Times, New York Daily News, and Baltimore Sun. The company traces its roots to the Chicago Tribune, founded in 1847 in a single room above a Chicago street corner. In 2016 it briefly renamed itself tronc (short for "Tribune Online Content") to signal a digital-first strategy, a move so widely mocked that it switched back to Tribune Publishing in 2018.
