Urstadt Biddle Properties Inc.
A real estate investment trust that owns and runs grocery-anchored shopping centers across the New York tri-state area, the kind of suburban plazas where families pick up food and daily needs. It began in 1969 as Hubbard Real Estate Investments, an offshoot of Merrill Lynch, before New York real estate executive Charles Urstadt took charge and pointed it toward neighborhood centers. The name pairs Urstadt with "Wing" Biddle, the son-in-law who led the firm — in 2023 it was folded into Regency Centers.
