An online retailer that runs limited-time "flash sales" on kids' and women's clothing, toys, baby gear, and home decor, with a fresh batch of discounted items appearing each day. It was founded in Seattle in 2009 by Darrell Cavens and Mark Vadon, two former executives at the jewelry site Blue Nile. The idea came from Vadon's own experience: when his wife was pregnant, he felt overwhelmed hunting for baby supplies, so the pair built a site that turned shopping into a daily "treasure hunt" for moms.
