A Chilean holding company that sits at the center of the Luksic Group, one of the country's largest business families, steering investments across banking (Banco de Chile), beverages (CCU), energy (Enex), and shipping. It began in 1957 as a forestry firm named Forestal Quiñenco, cutting eucalyptus for wood props used in mining tunnels before branching into copper, food, and hotels. The name comes from Mapudungun, the Mapuche language, where "quiñe" means "one" and "co" means "water."
