Gea Group AG
A maker of industrial machinery that separates, cools, and processes fluids for the food, beverage, and dairy industries, GEA Group builds the centrifuges that skim milk and the heat exchangers used in factories worldwide. Its roots go back to 1881 as a Frankfurt metals trader, but the name comes from a 1920 German firm, "Gesellschaft für Entstaubungsanlagen," literally the "Company for Dedusting Systems," which once made air filters. Today the letters GEA simply stand for the group's present name.
