Industria De Diseno Textil, S.a. (inditex)
A Spanish fashion retail group behind some of the best-known clothing brands on high streets worldwide, including Zara, Pull&Bear, Massimo Dutti, Bershka and Stradivarius, which sell clothing, footwear and accessories for men, women and children. It grew out of a small family workshop in A Coruña founded by Amancio Ortega, who opened the first Zara store there in 1975 and formed Inditex as his holding company in 1985. Fun fact: Zara was nearly called Zorba, after the film Zorba the Greek, until the founder discovered a nearby bar with that name and rearranged the already-made sign letters to spell Zara.
