Louis Hachette Group S.a.
A French media and publishing conglomerate, the Louis Hachette Group owns Hachette Livre, one of the world's largest book publishers with over 200 imprints worldwide, plus magazine publisher Prisma Media and the Lagardère group's travel-retail business. The company was born in 2024 when media giant Vivendi split itself into separate listed companies. Its roots reach back to 1826, when founder Louis Hachette bought a Paris bookstore near the Sorbonne and later pioneered selling books from stalls in railway stations, making reading easy for travelers.
