Kemira Oyj
A Finnish chemicals maker that supplies the pulp-and-paper, water-treatment, and energy industries, with products like its Superfloc and Fenno brands used to treat water and help make paper. It began in 1920 when the Finnish state bought a German sulphuric acid plant to make fertilizer for farmers. The name Kemira came from a 1972 employee naming contest, combining Finnish words for chemistry, minerals, and nutrients.
