Accenture Plc
A global professional services company, Accenture helps major corporations and governments reinvent themselves through strategy, consulting, technology, and operations, and counts most of the world's largest businesses among its long-term clients. It grew out of the consulting arm of accounting firm Arthur Andersen, which split off as Andersen Consulting in 1989 before going its own way in 2001. The name came from an employee contest—Danish consultant Kim Petersen coined "Accenture" as a play on "accent on the future," and won a trip to a golf tournament in Australia for it.
