Brookfield Infrastructure Partners L.p.
A global owner of essential infrastructure — the utilities, toll roads, ports, rail lines, pipelines, and data networks that keep everyday life running. It was created in 2008 as a spin-off from Brookfield Asset Management, which handed it an initial portfolio of electricity transmission and timberland assets. The "Brookfield" name was borrowed from the parent company's commercial property division, whose own roots trace back to a Brazilian power company.
