Dentsu Group Inc
A Japanese advertising and communications group, Dentsu creates marketing campaigns, media planning, and branding work for clients around the world. It was founded in 1901 when journalist Hoshiro Mitsunaga launched a news wire service alongside an ad agency, cleverly trading news content to newspapers for advertising space, and the two merged in 1907. The name is a contraction of its original full name, Nippon Dempo Tsushin-sha ("Japan Telegraphic Communication"), reflecting its telegraph roots — a fitting origin for a company that helped pioneer commercial television in Japan.
