Kanadevia Corp
A Japanese industrial engineering company that builds waste-to-energy plants, recycling facilities, water treatment plants, and machinery like tunnel boring machines. Founded in 1881 as Osaka Iron Works by British entrepreneur Edward H. Hunter, it grew into the famous shipbuilder Hitachi Zosen before spinning off that business and renaming itself Kanadevia in 2024. The coined name blends the Japanese word "kanaderu" (to play music in harmony) with the Latin "via" (road) — a nod to leaving its shipbuilding past behind.
