Demant A/s
A Danish hearing healthcare group that designs, makes, and sells hearing aids and hearing-care technology, including the well-known Oticon brand, used by people with hearing loss and the professionals who fit them. It was founded in 1904 when Hans Demant traveled to England to buy one of the world's first electronic hearing aids for his wife, Camilla, who had hearing loss — and then began importing and building similar devices for others. The Oticon name blends the Greek word for "ear" with the Latin word for "image."
