African Gold Acquisition Corporation
A blank-check company (a special purpose acquisition company, or SPAC) incorporated in the Cayman Islands in 2020, formed to merge with a gold-mining business in Africa. It raised money in a 2021 initial public offering but never completed a deal, and it liquidated in 2023 after its former chief financial officer was charged with embezzling funds. Its name simply reflects its stated hunt for gold-mining targets on the African continent.
