Apollo Strategic Growth Capital II
A special purpose acquisition company, or SPAC — a shell set up to raise money from investors and then merge with a private business to take it public. Apollo Strategic Growth Capital II is sponsored by Apollo Global Management, one of the world's largest alternative asset managers, which launched it as part of a series of similar blank-check vehicles. Like other SPACs, it began life with no operating business of its own, holding the raised cash in trust while hunting for a merger target. Its name comes straight from its parent, the Apollo brand, and the "II" marks it as the second in Apollo's line of strategic growth SPACs.
