A maker of plastic injection molding machines — the huge presses that shape everything from car parts to toys — Haitian International is one of the world's largest producers in its field. Headquartered in Ningbo, China, it traces its roots to 1966, when the Jiangnan Agricultural Machinery Plant began life repairing farm equipment, before delivering its first injection molding machine in 1973. Its name, registered in 1985, is "Haitian" (海天), which in Chinese literally means "sea and sky" — a nod to its vast ambitions.
